Support Skokie Assist-A-Family!

Please consider participating in the 2018 Skokie Assist-A-Family Program that helps Skokie families struggling with limited financial resources celebrate the winter holidays. Families receive gift cards for area businesses which they use to purchase food, household necessities and other items specific to each family member’s needs and wants.

Last year nearly 200 families received gift cards through the program. Those interested in making a donation this year are asked to do so by Friday, November 30. Checks also are accepted and should be made payable to the Village of Skokie, and add Skokie Assist-A-Family Program on the memo line. For further information, please contact the Skokie Human Services Division at 847-933-8208.

The repairs are expected to be concluded in approximately one week, at which time Church Street will reopen. The repairs will be considered temporary, with final repairs expected to occur in fall 2019.

Family Travel Survey

The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is offering $50 for taking a detailed survey about your daily travel - how you get around, how much time you spend in transit and the purpose of your trips. The survey is designed to provide better understanding of Chicago-area residents' travel habits and needs, which will help guide use of limited resources for future transit investments. The survey is open until May 2019. Click here to take the survey or call 1-855-981-7286.
